Most NVMe slots in a 2-bay

Asustor Nimbustor 2 Gen2 AS5402T

A 2-bay Plex box with four NVMe slots for fast SSD storage.

Our pick: Most NVMe slots in a 2-bay. The Asustor Nimbustor 2 Gen2 AS5402T is a 2-bay NAS powered by the Intel Celeron N5105, 4 cores, with 4GB of RAM and 2x 2.5GbE networking. It suits a 2-bay Plex box with four NVMe slots for fast SSD storage. The catch: the NVMe slots are slow PCIe lanes on this chip, so do not expect full SSD speeds. ADM has a smaller app store than Synology.

Why we pick it

Four M.2 NVMe slots plus two drive bays
Two 2.5GbE ports and HDMI out
4.3 stars from 287 ratings

The catch

The NVMe slots are slow PCIe lanes on this chip, so do not expect full SSD speeds. ADM has a smaller app store than Synology.

1 and 2 bay in one line

Two drives mirrored (RAID 1) is the classic first NAS: if one drive dies, nothing is lost. Fine for photos, backups and a media library up to the size of one drive.
